There has been a long established and traditional mechanism for the production and development of knowledge within the academic sphere. The affordances of the digital and of global connectivity are changing these mechanisms particularly with the moves towards openness and accessibility for all.  What are these new models and how might they impact on knowledge production? This talk looks at what has become known as the Open Agenda with a focus on open access, open education, open publishing and open science.  What benefits and what difficulties do we encounter along this new pathway? How might these changes be managed?
