Cuijuan(Jada) Xia is Researcher of Shanghai Library, team leader of  Shanghai Library's Digital Humanities(DH) projects,senior DH Platform architect, and KOS(knowledge organization system) designer. She has taken a mainly part in develop and design DH projects of Shanghai Library. She hosts and participates in many  national research projects. Her research focuses on Metadata, Ontology, Knowledge Organization, Linked Data, Digital Humanities, and Cultural Memory. She has published 3 books and more than 50 papers in the Journal of Library Science in China, Journal of Academic Libraries, Library Tribune, Library Journal, Library  and Information Science and other academic journals. Cuijuan(Jada) Xia is Researcher at R&D Dept., System and Network Center, Shanghai Library. She has worked as the team leader of the DH projects of Shanghai Library,senior DH(Digital Humanities) Platform architect and KOS(knowledge organization system) designer for for DH platforms for more than five years. At present, she is a member of the Compilation and Publication Committee of the Chinese Library Society, a member of the Digital Humanities Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Social Science and Information, a deputy director of the Youth Academic Committee of the Shanghai Library Society, and a director of the Digital Humanities Professional Committee. He has long been engaged in the research and development of Metadata, Ontology, Knowledge Organization, Linked Data, Digital Humanities, Cultural Memory, etc.

She has deeply participated in the research and development of more than 10 literature knowledge bases including genealogy, ancient books, manuscripts and archives,newspapers and magazines, old photos and old movies. And more than 10 basic knowledge bases providing knowledge linking services for literature knowledge bases,  including Names Authory databases which can support Authority Control in a web-scale such as Peson, Place, Time, Architecture, and so on. And also the Tibetan seal and Taboo word knowledge base.The "Chinese Genealogy Knowledge Service Platform", which  combines Ontology, Linked Data technology and Knowledge Organization methods of Library and Information science for the first time in China, and introduces Digital Humanisties methods and paradigms into the construction and service of Library's special collection resource databases. Innovatively introduced the "Evidence-based Practice" method in the field of social sciences into the construction of "Chinese Ancient books Union Catalog and Evidence-based Platform". The method plays a leading and exemplary role in the construction of ancient books database in the library. It is the first time in the domestic library field to open bibliographic data to the whole society in Linked Open Data, which supports the fifth open data application development competition of Shanghai Library. Recently, she and the DH team members have designed and implemented the technical architecture and service integration architecture of Historical and Humanistic Big Data Platform(http://dhc.library.sh.cn). The prototype system of the platform has been developed to fully support the typical paradigm of Digital Humanities Research such as Text Analysis, SNS, GIS, etc..

The DH Projects mentioned above have won some international awards. For example, in 2017, in the case challenge of the fourth Linked Open Data for Libraries, Archives, and Museums(LODLAM) Summit Forum, the Genealogy Project entered the Final list five of the 21 projects in the world, and was invited to Venice, Italy, for project demonstration. In addition, the open data competition won the second prize in the 2017 IFLA Library Marketing Award, and recently, the Genealogy Knoledge Service Platform won the Best DH Project Award in CDH2020. 

In terms of academic achievements, 50+ CSSCI journal papers  and 3 books were published.She hosted two projects of the National Philosophy and Social Science Foundation of China, including the general project "Theoretical construction and Practical Exploration of Data Infrastructure Supporting Urban Memory Projects (19btq007)" ,and the 2013 National Philosophy and Social Science Foundation Project youth project "Application of W3C RDB2RDF Standard Specification in the Construction of Linked Data service (13ctq008)", and concluded in 2017, with the evaluation grade of "good". As a main member, she participated in 10 major and general projects of National Philosophy and Social Sciences and general projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China. From 2014 to 2020, she delivered 10+ speeches at international conferences, including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, Japan and South Korea, Italy, Portugal and the United States. He is the soliciting author of the youth forum of Journal of Library of China, and the external reviewer of Journal of Academic Libraries, Library and Information Knowledge, Library Tribune, Library Journal(China), Library Construction, Digital Library Forum and Agricultural Library and Information Science Journal. Editorial board member of Digital Humanities Research.
